Copycat Krispy Kreme Ornament Doughnut

Ingredients

Doughnut Dough

  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 ½ cups flour

Filling (Vanilla Cream)

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Icing

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • red food colouring

Decoration

  • white icing (for lines/details)
  • sprinkles

Instructions

1. Make dough

Activate yeast in warm milk + sugar (5–10 min).

Add butter, egg, salt, and flour. Mix into soft dough.

Knead 5–7 minutes until smooth.

Let rise 1 hour until doubled.

2. Shape & fry

Roll out dough and cut rounds.

Let rise again 30 minutes.

Fry at 350°F (175°C) until golden (about 1 min per side).

Cool completely.

3. Make filling

Whip cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until thick.

4. Fill & decorate

Fill doughnut with cream.

Dip top in coloured icing.

Add white details + sprinkles.

Tips

  • Let dough fully rise for that airy texture
  • Don’t overfill or it’ll burst
  • Slightly cool icing before dipping
