Copycat Mr. Krabs Cheesy Tater Tots

Ingredients

Potato Base

  • 3 cups shredded potatoes (or frozen hashbrowns)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper

Filling

  • 1 cup cheddar cheese cubes

Frying

  • oil for frying

Instructions

1. Prep potatoes

If using fresh potatoes, squeeze out excess moisture.

Mix potatoes with egg, flour, salt, and pepper.

2. Shape tots

Take small amount of potato mixture, flatten slightly.

Add cheese cube, wrap and roll into tot shape.

3. Fry

Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).

Fry tots 3–4 minutes until golden and crispy.

4. Drain

Place on paper towel to remove excess oil.

Tips

  • Keep tots small so cheese melts evenly
  • Freeze for 10 minutes before frying for better shape
  • Don’t overcrowd oil
