Starbucks Review: Caramel Protein Matcha
This one is interesting because it’s trying to balance three things at once: matcha, caramel, and protein.
Visually, it’s not the prettiest drink. The texture is thicker, and it doesn’t have that clean layered look most drinks have.
The first sip is smoother than expected. The protein doesn’t make it chalky, which is a big win.
Flavour-wise, the matcha is there, but it’s softened a lot by the caramel.
The caramel is actually the main flavour here. It adds sweetness and makes the drink much more approachable.
The matcha becomes more of a background note rather than the main feature.
Texture is thick and creamy, but still drinkable. It’s filling — more like a snack than just a drink.
This is one of those drinks that works better if you’re thinking of it as a protein drink first, coffee shop drink second.
Final Verdict:
Smooth, filling, and caramel-forward. More functional than aesthetic.
