Copycat Recipe: McDonald’s Double Cheesy Melt
Ingredients
- 2 small beef patties
- 2 slices American cheese
- 1 soft hamburger bun
Cheese Sauce
- ¼ cup shredded cheddar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp butter
Optional
- small amount of ketchup or mustard (very light)
Instructions
1. Cook patties
Cook both patties in a pan or on a griddle. Season lightly with salt.
2. Make cheese sauce
In a small pan, melt butter.
Add milk and shredded cheese.
Stir until smooth and melted.
3. Melt cheese slices
Place cheese slices on patties just before removing from heat.
4. Assemble
Toast bun lightly.
Add bottom patty, then second patty.
Pour cheese sauce over top.
Close bun.

- Keep it simple — don’t overload toppings
- Use American cheese for authentic flavour
- Don’t overcook patties — keep them juicy
- Cheese sauce should be smooth, not thick
