Krispy Kreme Review: Baby Chick Doughnut
This one is very clearly designed to be all about the look first, but it actually holds up better than expected once you get into it.
Visually, it’s probably the most detailed out of the Easter lineup. The chick design, the colour, and the little decorative elements make it stand out immediately. It’s one of those doughnuts you notice before anything else.
The first bite is soft and light, exactly what you expect from a Krispy Kreme base. That consistency is what keeps these themed doughnuts from falling apart completely.
Flavour-wise, it leans heavily into sweetness. Most of that comes from the icing, which is usually vanilla-based and smooth.
There’s not a strong, distinct flavour beyond that. It’s more about a general sweet profile rather than anything specific.
That said, there is some texture variation depending on the toppings:
- soft dough
- smooth icing
- small bits of decoration adding slight crunch
It helps a bit, but not enough to make it feel complex.
This is definitely more of a novelty doughnut. It tastes fine, but it’s not something you’re choosing for flavour alone.
It’s easy to eat, not overly heavy, and doesn’t feel like too much — but it also doesn’t stand out beyond the design.
Final Verdict:
Cute and simple. More about the look than the flavour, but still easy to enjoy.
