Crumbl Molten Lava Cookie Review
This one definitely looks the part – thick, glossy, and heavy in the hand like it’s hiding something inside. Breaking into it, though, the “lava” wasn’t exactly what I expected. Instead of a dramatic flow, it stayed pretty contained in the center.
Flavor-wise, the filling leaned very bitter. At first, you get that familiar chocolate hit, but it quickly turned into a stronger, almost harsh bitterness that lingered as an aftertaste. The cookie and filling didn’t really play off each other much; instead, they blended together into one note rather than layers of flavor.
Texture-wise, it’s manageable — nowhere near the messiest cookie Crumbl has put out. You can eat it without worrying about chocolate spilling everywhere, which I’ll give points for. But in the end, the flavor profile just didn’t work for me.
Would I get it again? Honestly, no. The bitterness drowned out what could have been a rich, indulgent chocolate cookie. But if you’re someone who loves dark chocolate and craves that bitter edge, this one might land better for you than it did for me.
