Crumbl Review: Chocolate Cupcake Cookie

This one is very clearly built to mimic a cupcake, and it leans fully into that idea.

Visually, it looks like a mini chocolate cake. The base is darker and thicker, and it’s topped with a noticeable layer of frosting that gives it that full dessert feel.

The first bite is soft and slightly dense.

The chocolate base comes through right away. It’s more of a cake-style chocolate than a rich brownie — lighter, but still sweet and consistent.

The frosting is what defines the cookie.

It adds:

  • a smooth, creamy texture
  • a stronger sweetness
  • that classic cupcake-style finish

Together, it creates a profile that feels more like:

👉 cake → frosting → sweetness

There’s not a lot of contrast beyond that.

The chocolate isn’t deep or bitter — it leans more toward a sweet, approachable flavour.

Texture:

  • soft, cake-like base
  • smooth frosting
  • very little variation

This is a very straightforward dessert cookie. It does exactly what it’s meant to do, but it doesn’t offer much beyond that.

It can feel a bit repetitive after a few bites because everything stays in the same flavour range.

Final Verdict:

Sweet, soft, and very cupcake-like. Well executed, but simple and slightly one-note.
