Review: Dairy Queen Cotton Candy Blizzard
The Cotton Candy Blizzard is exactly what you’d expect — a sugar rush in ice cream form. The first spoonful hits with that unmistakable cotton candy sweetness, though it leans more toward “sweet” than deeply flavored.
What saves it from being one-note are the mix-ins. The candy pieces and sprinkles help the cotton candy flavor stick out instead of fading into just vanilla soft serve. Without them, it would risk being plain sweet ice cream, but with them, it feels like a fairground treat in Blizzard form.
Portion-wise, it’s easy to imagine kids demolishing a large with no problem, but as an adult, a small is the perfect size — just enough nostalgia without overloading on sugar.
Bottom Line:
The Cotton Candy Blizzard is a fun summer novelty, but probably best left as a seasonal special. Sweet, colorful, and playful, but not something you’d want on the menu year-round.
✨ Next week, I’ll be posting a copycat recipe for Dairy Queen’s Cotton Candy Blizzard so you can recreate this exact summer treat at home.
