Review: Starbucks Strawberry Matcha Latte
This drink was a surprise in the best way. The strawberry foam tastes almost homemade — fresh, fruity, and more like a strawberry milkshake than anything artificial. I went in expecting the matcha to be overly grassy or strong, but it turned out to be mellow, smooth, and easy to sip.
At first, the strawberry and matcha sit in layers, but once mixed together, the balance is spot on. The strawberry brightens the matcha, while the matcha keeps the drink from leaning too sweet. Texture-wise, it’s creamy and thick in a way that feels more like a Frappuccino than a light tea drink.
For me, this was way outside my usual order, but I was pleasantly surprised — enough that I’d get it again. A Tall is perfect as a treat, but I could see matcha fans going bigger without issue.
Bottom Line:
The Strawberry Matcha Latte is a drink for strawberry lovers first, but it’s also a fantastic “starter matcha” if you’ve never tried it before. It’s approachable, well-balanced, and seasonal without feeling heavy-handed.
✨ I’ll be posting a copycat recipe for this one on Substack next week — so you can recreate that fresh strawberry foam and mellow matcha combo at home.
