Crumbl Strawberry Pretzel Pie Cookie
With the Strawberry Pretzel Pie, the first bite is all strawberry—bright, sweet, and syrupy. It completely takes over until it’s gone, and then you’re mostly just left with the cookie base. The pretzel part hardly shows up at all.
The strawberry topping is more of a syrup than a fruit layer, and it leans so sweet that it drowns out most of the other elements. In theory, the salty pretzel should balance it out, but in practice you don’t really get that mix. The few pretzel pieces that do crunch around the edges are muted, without that sharp salty punch you’d expect.
Texture-wise, it’s thick and heavy. The mini was enough for me, and even then I didn’t really feel like finishing it—it’s a lot to bite into, and not in a rewarding way.
This one feels more like a novelty than a cookie you’d actually crave again. It’s different, sure, but the balance doesn’t land, and the end result is a bit of a letdown.
Bottom Line:
Unique in concept, but in execution the Strawberry Pretzel Pie is too sweet, too heavy, and not salty enough to live up to its name. More of a one-time curiosity than a cookie you’d come back for.
Next week, I’ll be sharing my exclusive copycat recipe for a Strawberry Pretzel Cookie that actually delivers on the promise — fresh strawberry compote, a buttery cookie base baked with pretzel crumbs for crunch, and a creamy layer that ties it all together. Subscribe so you don’t miss it.
