Copycat Tim Hortons Protein Latte (Hot & Iced)
Creamy, Smooth, and Protein-Packed
Tim Hortons’ Protein Latte is surprisingly smooth — no chalky aftertaste, just a slightly richer, heavier version of a regular latte. This copycat works with both hot and iced methods, so you can get your coffee and protein boost in one go.
Ingredients (makes 1 medium)
- 1 cup milk of choice (dairy works best for creaminess)
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (whey or plant-based — choose one that blends well)
- ½ cup strong brewed coffee or 2 shots espresso
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
- Ice (for iced version only)
Instructions
Hot Protein Latte:
- Warm milk in a small pot until steaming (don’t boil).
- Whisk in protein powder until smooth and frothy (use a blender if needed).
- Pour coffee or espresso into a mug, then add the protein milk.
- Sweeten with honey/maple if desired.
Iced Protein Latte:
- Blend milk, protein powder, and sweetener (if using) until smooth.
- Fill a tall glass with ice, pour in coffee or espresso.
- Top with protein milk mixture, stir gently.
Tips & Velvet Fork Twist
- Blend, don’t stir: Protein powder can clump if stirred into hot liquid. A blender or milk frother gives that smooth, café texture.
- The iced version shines because the creaminess feels natural cold, while the hot can feel a little heavy — just like you said.
- Try adding ½ tsp cinnamon or pumpkin spice in fall to make it seasonal.
