Copycat Krispy Kreme Hufflepuff Doughnut

Hufflepuff’s doughnut is as friendly as the house itself: soft, golden dough filled with a lemon–orange cream that feels light instead of heavy. The yellow glaze on top makes it look playful, and the citrus filling sneaks in a burst of brightness that keeps it from being just another glazed doughnut.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp instant yeast
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp salt

Filling:

  • ½ cup lemon curd (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ cup orange marmalade
  • Mix together for the “lemony-orange” filling

Glaze:

  • Powdered sugar + milk glaze, tinted yellow

Instructions

  1. Mix dough, knead smooth, let rise 1 hr.
  2. Cut rounds, rise 30 min. Fry at 350°F until golden. Cool.
  3. Pipe citrus filling into each doughnut.
  4. Dip in glaze and sprinkle gold.

  • Use a pinch of turmeric in the glaze for a natural golden tone and subtle warmth.
