Copycat Burger King Cheesy Tots

Crispy outside, molten middle.

Cheesy Tots are simple but addictive: fried potato bites with gooey cheese inside. Getting the cheese-to-potato ratio right is the trick.

Ingredients (makes ~20 tots)

  • 2 cups frozen shredded hash browns, thawed
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, cubed small
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt & pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix potatoes, egg, flour, and seasonings into a tacky dough.
  2. Wrap potato mix around cheese cubes into nugget shapes.
  3. Fry at 350°F until golden brown, 2–3 min.

Velvet Fork Twist: Toss finished tots in a dusting of parmesan + smoked paprika for a melty, smoky crust.
