Copycat Recipe: Starbucks Matcha Protein Latte (Hot & Iced)
This copycat keeps the creamy, mellow balance of Starbucks’ protein matcha latte. No chalky aftertaste, just a smooth, energizing drink that can be enjoyed hot or cold.
Ingredients (1 serving):
1 tsp matcha powder (ceremonial or latte-grade)
½ cup hot water (just below boiling, ~175°F)
½ cup milk (oat or dairy works best)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (or unflavored if you want stronger matcha)
1–2 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
Ice (for iced version)
Instructions (Hot):
Whisk matcha with hot water until fully dissolved and frothy.
Froth milk with protein powder until smooth and creamy.
Combine matcha and milk mixture in a mug, sweeten to taste, and enjoy.
Instructions (Iced):
Whisk matcha with hot water until dissolved. Let cool slightly.
Blend protein powder with milk until creamy and lump-free.
Fill a glass with ice. Pour in matcha, then the protein milk. Stir gently.
Tip: For the most Starbucks-like texture, blend the protein with the milk using an electric frother or blender. It keeps the drink smooth instead of gritty.
