Strawberry Cake Cookie — Crumbl Weekly Review
Crumbl’s Strawberry Cake Cookie feels like the kind of treat you want to love at first glance. It’s bright, pink, cheerful, and looks like it was made for spring birthdays and sweet-tooth moods. But beneath all that visual charm is a cookie that struggles a bit with its own balance — pretty, yes, and rich, but just slightly off in the way the flavors land.
Right away, it’s striking. The cookie base is thick and pale pink, topped with a mountain of strawberry frosting and a scatter of crumbs. The texture looks crunchy on the edges and soft through the middle — that signature Crumbl heft that promises satisfaction. It smells like strawberry syrup and vanilla cake batter, which feels immediately nostalgic and a little over-the-top in the best way.
The first bite delivers plenty of texture — a crisp edge leading into a dense, chewy middle — but the flavor doesn’t quite match the appearance. The strawberry tastes strongly artificial, leaning more toward candy than real fruit. The frosting is thick, sugary, and creamy, but it dominates everything beneath it. The cookie itself is light and crunchy enough to balance things texturally, yet flavor-wise, it gets lost under the frosting’s weight.
Still, there’s something enjoyable about it. It’s that classic “Crumbl dessert” experience — a bit too sweet but still fun. The crunchy top gives way to the soft interior beautifully, and the frosting-to-cookie ratio, while heavy, at least makes each bite feel indulgent.
I kept thinking this one needed a little acidity, something tart to cut the sugar — a swirl of real strawberry purée, maybe, or a cream cheese element. Without that, it sits firmly in the “sweet on sweet” category.
That said, it delivers on what most people want from a dessert cookie: big flavor, big texture, and a showy finish. You can’t call it boring, and while I wouldn’t reach for it often, it scratches that pink-frosted, nostalgic craving perfectly.
Verdict: Beautiful, sweet, and heavy on nostalgia — just a touch too artificial for its own good. If you love strawberry-flavored candy and thick frosting, this one will absolutely hit the mark.
