Copycat Starbucks Peppermint Mocha

A winter classic that tastes like a peppermint hot chocolate more than a heavy mocha — smooth, cozy, chocolatey, and perfectly minty.

Ingredients (1 drink)

1 cup milk

1–2 shots espresso

1 tbsp cocoa powder

2 tbsp chocolate syrup

¼ tsp peppermint extract

1–2 tbsp sugar (or to taste)

Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

Brew espresso.

In a saucepan, warm milk with cocoa powder, chocolate syrup, sugar, and peppermint.

Whisk until smooth. Pour milk mixture into your mug over the espresso.

Top with whipped cream + chocolate drizzle.

Tips

Peppermint extract is strong — don’t overdo it.

For more “hot chocolate” and less “mocha,” use 1 shot espresso instead of 2.
