Burger King Franken-Candy Sundae Review

Burger King leaned hard into Halloween this year with their Franken-Candy Sundae, and honestly, it looks the part. When I first opened it up, the swirl of vanilla soft serve with the bright candy and dark cookie crumble immediately gave off that “monster lab experiment” vibe. It’s colorful, playful, and definitely feels like something made for spooky season.

Flavor-wise, this sundae doesn’t reinvent the wheel — it’s their classic vanilla soft serve at the base, which is always smooth and creamy, and then layered with a mix of popping candy and cookie crumbs. The vanilla comes through strongest, but the candy bits add just enough of a surprise to keep each bite interesting. It isn’t overly sweet or overwhelming; it’s more subtle than I expected, but still enjoyable.

The textures are what sell it. The cookie crumble gives a light crunch, while the popping candy does exactly what it’s supposed to: it lingers on your tongue with that fun fizzy crackle. It’s a nostalgic little detail that makes it feel Halloween-specific instead of just another sundae.

In terms of portion size, it’s a bit smaller than I’d like. I could’ve easily eaten a larger version, but the size they serve is definitely reasonable and probably perfect for most people who just want a quick themed treat.

Overall, the Franken-Candy Sundae is a fun seasonal gimmick. It’s not bursting with bold flavors, but the presentation and the lingering pop of the candy make it worth trying at least once. For me, it’s probably a one-and-done treat, but I’m glad I got to experience it. Kids and anyone who loves the nostalgia of popping candy will probably enjoy it most.

⭐ Verdict: Fun, festive, and worth a try if you’re already at Burger King this season, but don’t expect anything mind-blowing.
