Copycat Burger King Cheesy Tots
Crispy outside, molten middle.
Cheesy Tots are simple but addictive: fried potato bites with gooey cheese inside. Getting the cheese-to-potato ratio right is the trick.
Ingredients (makes ~20 tots)
- 2 cups frozen shredded hash browns, thawed
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, cubed small
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp flour
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- Salt & pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Mix potatoes, egg, flour, and seasonings into a tacky dough.
- Wrap potato mix around cheese cubes into nugget shapes.
- Fry at 350°F until golden brown, 2–3 min.
Velvet Fork Twist: Toss finished tots in a dusting of parmesan + smoked paprika for a melty, smoky crust.
