Copycat Crumbl Caramel Shortbread Cookie ft. Twix
Part cookie, part candy bar — this Crumbl classic is pure indulgence. It layers a buttery shortbread base, smooth caramel center, and glossy chocolate topping that cracks ever so slightly when you bite in. Sweet, buttery, and just salty enough, it’s like Twix got a bakery upgrade.
Ingredients
For the Shortbread Base:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
½ cup powdered sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
¼ tsp salt
For the Caramel Layer:
1 cup soft caramels (like Kraft or Werther’s)
2 tbsp heavy cream
For the Chocolate Layer:
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 tbsp coconut oil or butter (for smoothness)
Optional Topping:
Chopped Twix bars or shortbread crumbs
Instructions
Make the Shortbread Base — Cream butter and powdered sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla, then mix in flour and salt. The dough should be soft but not sticky.
Bake — Scoop large cookies and flatten slightly. Bake at 350°F (177°C) for 10–12 minutes until edges are pale golden. Cool completely.
Caramel Layer — Melt caramels and cream together in a small saucepan or microwave in 30-second bursts until smooth. Spread evenly over cooled cookies. Chill for 10 minutes.
Chocolate Layer — Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil, stir until glossy, and spoon a thick layer over caramel. Let set fully before serving.
Pro Tips
Add a pinch of flaky salt on top for perfect contrast.
Use milk chocolate for authenticity, but dark chocolate for a more grown-up version.
Chill each layer before adding the next to keep them distinct and picture-perfect.
