Copycat Recipe: Krispy Kreme Baby Chick Doughnut

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2¼ cups flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2¼ tsp yeast
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp salt

Yellow Icing

  • 1½ cups icing sugar
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • yellow food colouring

Decoration

  • chocolate chips or icing (eyes)
  • orange icing (beak)

Instructions

1. Activate yeast

Mix milk and yeast. Let foam.

2. Make dough

Add sugar, egg, butter, salt, and flour. Mix until dough forms.

3. Knead

Knead until smooth.

4. Rise

Let rise 1 hour.

5. Shape

Form round doughnuts.

6. Second rise

Let rest 20–30 minutes.

7. Fry

Fry until golden.

8. Make icing

Mix icing sugar, milk, and colouring.

9. Decorate

Dip in yellow icing.

Add eyes and beak using icing or chocolate.
