Copycat Tim Hortons Crème Brûlée Timbits
Mini doughnut holes with creamy custard centers and that signature brûlée sweetness.
Ingredients
For the Timbits:
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
¼ cup sugar
1 egg
¾ cup milk
2 tbsp melted butter
Oil for frying
For the Custard Filling:
1 ½ cups milk
3 egg yolks
⅓ cup sugar
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Brûlée Topping:
3 tbsp sugar
Instructions
Make the custard: Heat milk in a saucepan until steaming.
In a bowl, whisk yolks, sugar, and cornstarch. Slowly pour in warm milk while whisking. Return to heat and whisk until thick. Add vanilla and cool.
Make the Timbits: In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Add egg, milk, and butter until a soft dough forms.
Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Fry in 350°F oil until golden (about 2 minutes per side).
Cool slightly, then pipe custard into the center using a pastry bag.

Optional use a kitchen torch to gently caramelize the sugar on top.
Tip: Chill the custard-filled Timbits before torching for a crispier finish.
