Copycat Tim Hortons Thanksgiving Stack Sandwich

Bring the taste of a holiday dinner to your kitchen with this hearty, seasonal sandwich. Our copycat version recreates the layers of tender turkey, stuffing, cranberry, and crispy onions, all tucked inside a soft potato bun. It’s the perfect “mini Thanksgiving” meal when you want the flavors of the holiday without the full spread.

Ingredients (Makes 2 sandwiches)

2 potato sandwich buns (soft, slightly sweet, bakery-style)

6–8 oz roasted turkey breast, sliced thick (real roasted breast, not deli slices)

1 cup stuffing (use leftover homemade stuffing or boxed mix prepared to package directions)

2 tbsp cranberry sauce (smooth or whole berry, depending on preference)

½ cup crispy fried onions (like French’s or homemade)

2 tsp butter (for lightly toasting buns)

Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the buns: Slice potato buns in half and lightly butter the cut sides. Toast them in a skillet or under the broiler until golden. This helps them hold up against the moist filling.

Warm the turkey: Heat sliced turkey gently in a skillet or oven. Don’t overcook—just warm through so it stays juicy. Season lightly with salt and pepper if needed.

Build the base: Spread a spoonful of stuffing onto the bottom bun, pressing slightly so it sticks together and doesn’t spill out.

Layer the turkey: Add a generous portion of roasted turkey slices over the stuffing.

Add cranberry: Spoon cranberry sauce over the turkey. Keep it light—just enough to add a tangy-sweet pop without overwhelming the sandwich.

Crunch factor: Sprinkle crispy fried onions generously on top. This provides the main texture contrast, so don’t be shy.

Finish: Cap with the toasted top bun, press gently, and serve warm.

Tips & Notes

Turkey swap: Leftover rotisserie chicken works if you can’t get roasted turkey breast, but turkey gives the most authentic flavor.

Stuffing boost: Stir a little sautéed onion and celery into boxed stuffing to bring it closer to a homemade vibe.

Cranberry balance: If you’re not a fan of cranberry, try using a thinner spread—mix half cranberry sauce with a touch of mayo to tone it down.

Make ahead: Toast buns and prep all fillings, then assemble just before serving so the onions stay crunchy.

This sandwich is indulgent but simple—perfect for a weeknight fall dinner or a fun Thanksgiving-inspired lunch without the work.
