Crumbl Review : Biscoff Lava Cookie

This one had me curious because Crumbl has been wildly hit-or-miss with their Biscoff lineup. Sometimes they nail that warm, spiced cookie-butter flavour, and other times… the balance goes weird and it becomes either too sweet or too heavy. The Lava Cookie falls right in the middle.

The cookie itself is soft, dense, and very warm-spiced — very much that classic Biscoff profile. It smells amazing the second you break it open. The outside has that lightly crisp chew, and the inside stays gooey, which makes sense for a “lava” cookie. Texture-wise, they definitely delivered on the molten center concept.

But the flavour is where it gets tricky. Biscoff has this natural sweetness with cinnamon warmth, and the cookie captures that… but then the filling pushes it past the point of balance. The lava center is extremely sweet — not in a “dessert treat” way, but in a “my mouth needs a break” way. You lose the richness of the cookie butter because the sweetness hits first and dominates everything else.

There’s also a tiny bitter edge happening underneath the sweetness, which surprised me. You’d barely notice it if you eat quickly, but if you actually sit and taste it, there’s a slightly sharp note that doesn’t quite match Biscoff’s usual smooth warmth. It’s not terrible, but it makes the cookie feel a little off from what I expected, especially compared to other Dubai/Biscoff Crumbl flavours that have been cleaner and smoother.

Texture-wise though? Amazing. The gooey center, the warm cookie, the meltiness—Crumbl nailed the concept. It’s messy, but in that “worth it” way if you like molten cookies.

For me, the sweetness is what would stop me from getting it again. It’s not a bad cookie, but the flavour isn’t as balanced or cozy as most Biscoff treats. I wanted that deep, warm cookie butter richness, and instead I mostly got sugar.

I’d call it a one-time experience: fun to try, cool idea, but not an every-week repeat.
