Crumbl Review : Peanut Butter Cup Skillet Cookie

The Peanut Butter Cup Skillet Cookie is one of those Crumbl desserts that tells you exactly what it’s going to be the moment you look at it — unapologetically peanut butter forward, dense, rich, and fully committed to its theme. However… for me, it went a little too hard in one direction. If you are a peanut butter superfan, this cookie is absolutely built for you. But if you like peanut butter in moderation, this might be overwhelming.

Visually, it’s a striking cookie — thick, rustic, golden, with a generous swirl on top and Reese’s-inspired tones throughout. It has that warm, cozy “dessert fresh from the oven” vibe that skillet cookies promise, even though Crumbl’s version is more handheld. You can tell right away it’s going to be soft, heavy, and rich.

And from the first bite, the peanut butter hits fast. Not a gentle peanut butter, not a mild peanut butter — but a full-force, concentrated peanut butter flavour that takes over the entire cookie. There’s almost no build-up. It’s instant, and it stays dominant through every bite. The cookie base itself is soft and chewy, which I liked, but the flavour profile never widens beyond “peanut butter, and then more peanut butter.”

The texture is actually excellent — very skillet-like, giving you that gooey-center-with-a-soft-edge combination without being messy. It’s warm, comforting, and exactly what you’d expect from a cookie inspired by a skillet dessert. But the flavour doesn’t evolve. You don’t really get chocolate notes coming through, the dough’s subtleties get drowned out, and even the swirl on top blends into the general peanut butter heaviness.

Now, peanut butter lovers will absolutely adore this. It’s rich. It’s dense. It’s aromatic. It has that bold roasted-nut flavour that true PB purists go crazy for. If your ideal dessert is anything in the Reese’s universe, this cookie will feel like a straight upgrade from the standard Crumbl peanut butter lineup.

But for me? It was overpowering. The richness builds fast, and there’s no contrast to break it up — no chocolate ribbons, no salt-forward moments, no texture shifts besides the general chewiness. It becomes a lot within just a few bites.

Still, the cookie is well executed for its intended audience. The texture is spot-on. The warmth is comforting. The structure doesn’t crumble or get messy. It’s a good cookie — but a very specific cookie.

Would I get it again?

No, but not because it’s bad — just because it’s overwhelmingly peanut butter.

Peanut butter lovers will absolutely be obsessed, but everyone else may feel like a few bites are enough.
