Fall 2025 Overview & Ranking
After running through menus from Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Dairy Queen, Wendy’s, Burger King, McDonald’s, and Krispy Kreme, the theme this fall was clear: pumpkin dominated. But once the sugar rush faded, the real winners weren’t necessarily the pumpkin items at all.
🥇 Best Overall – Tim Hortons Toasted Marshmallow Cold Brew
This one stood out because it didn’t rely on pumpkin to sell “fall.” Sweet without being cloying, marshmallowy without tasting artificial, and smooth enough to drink a large without regret—it’s the drink I’d go back for.
🥈 Best Coffee-Forward – Starbucks Pecan Oatmilk Cortado
For anyone who wanted actual coffee flavour instead of dessert-in-a-cup, the cortado delivered. Bold espresso up front, nutty pecan trailing behind, and just enough oatmilk to smooth it out. Not for sweet-tooth drinkers, but definitely a star.
🥉 Best Dessert-Inspired – Dairy Queen Pumpkin Pie Blizzard
Sometimes you just want comfort, and this Blizzard delivered exactly what it promised: pumpkin pie in soft-serve. It wasn’t overwhelming, but the whipped cream and pie crust bites gave it that Thanksgiving-after-dinner vibe.
🍴 Best Savory – Burger King Steakhouse Bacon Whopper
Among all the sweet drinks and baked goods, this burger was a breath of fresh air. Saucy, crunchy, smoky, and messy in the best way—it was one of the few savoury fall specials that really felt different.
💡 Most Surprising – Starbucks Strawberry Matcha (summer holdover)
This wasn’t even a fall drink, but it deserves mention because it changed my mind on matcha. Fresh strawberry flavour carried it, making it approachable and surprisingly addictive.
❌ Biggest Letdown – Tim Hortons Pumpkin Spice Latte (hot & iced)
Drinkable, sure, but bland. No pumpkin to speak of, barely any spice, and nothing to separate it from a regular latte. In a season overflowing with pumpkin, this one just didn’t show up.
Final Take:
Fall 2025 menus leaned predictable, but the highlights were the ones that broke from tradition—marshmallow, pecan, and Blizzard twists. If you only try three? Make it Tim’s Toasted Marshmallow Cold Brew, Starbucks Pecan Cortado, and DQ’s Pumpkin Pie Blizzard.
