Review: Crumbl Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookie
The first bite of the Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip cookie is all chocolate—rich and smooth, not bitter-dark but definitely leaning more on the deep side than a creamy milk chocolate. It sets a solid base, but then the peanut butter chips come in, and that’s where things get a little off. Instead of tasting like real peanut butter, the chips give more of an artificial note that lingers after each bite.
The peanut butter presence isn’t overwhelming—it blends into the cookie well enough—but the aftertaste sticks around in a way that takes away from the otherwise great flavor. Texture-wise, though, this one nails it: soft, chewy, and exactly how you want a classic cookie to feel.
Portion-wise, the mini was just right. It’s not as heavy as something like the cheesecake or pretzel cookies, but it still felt like enough. I didn’t love the peanut butter aftertaste enough to want a full-size, and while I wouldn’t turn it down if someone handed me one, it’s not something I’d choose again on my own.
Bottom Line:
Rich chocolate and soft, chewy texture make this a solid cookie, but the artificial peanut butter chip flavor keeps it from being a repeat buy. Worth a try once, but not a must-have.
Next week, I’ll be sharing my exclusive copycat recipe for a Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie that fixes the aftertaste problem — rich cocoa base with real peanut butter swirled in, soft-baked so the flavors blend instead of clash. Subscribe so you don’t miss it.
